Ready to be a part of something bigger than yourself? Friends of Batonga is a monthly giving program where 100% of every dollar you donate directly goes to helping a young woman or girl reach her full social, economic, and personal potential. You’re making a difference, every single month.

    • $25/month can provide professional trainings in new skills/trades to young women.

    • $50/month can help us reach 5 more rural young women and girls every year.

    • $75/month can support young women to launch their own small businesses.

    • $100/month can provide new training for mentors to develop their skill sets.

  • IT’S DIRECT – 100% of your monthly donations go to helping ensure that Batonga has resources to be there for young women, girls, and communities every single day.

CORPORATE GIVING

From one-off direct donations and collaborations to more long-term partnerships, there are a variety of ways you and your organization can work with the Batonga Foundation.

  • Recommend Batonga Foundation as a grant recipient to a charitable fund that you contribute to.

  • Your gift to Batonga could be matched dollar for dollar by your employer. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees, retirees and/or employees’ spouses.

  • If your company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative’s mission aligns with that of the Batonga Foundation, we’d love to build a more collaborative partnership with you!

  • We have extensive experience working with our partner foundations who share our vision of empowering girls and young women.

  • Aside from direct funding from individual and institutional donors, we also accept gifts in kind such as essential goods, equipment, digital products and subscriptions, and professional services—especially those that are not readily available in the communities we work with.

  • Batonga is always looking for sponsors to support its events. Whether it’s to help us organize a fundraiser in New York with our founder Angélique Kidjo as a guest performer, or to help us obtain auction items to raise money within our LA community, sponsorship lets us save resources for what matters most: the girls we support.

Founded by the first African woman to be a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Angélique Kidjo, Batonga operates with trusted partners, funders, and individuals.We work on a wide range of issues: from financial literacy to entrepreneurship, professional trainings, mentoring and solar energy (to name a few).

Our mission is simple: to serve the girls and young women who have been left out of traditional development initiatives and who fall between the cracks of poverty alleviation efforts in Africa. Batonga has taken on the exciting challenge of scaling its model to new communities and countries in West Africa. Help us get to places where women and girls need our support!
